Your Day On The River
Now you can travel independently for several miles of the Fowey river, upstream from Fowey, enjoying the fabulous scenery and wildlife from a kayak. The river is surrounded by wooded slopes and water meadows mostly owned by the National Trust, with nature reserves, salt marsh and bird sanctuaries on either side. The whole area is teeming with Herons, Wildfowl, Cormorants, and even Kingfishers, and, quietly gliding by, you can get closer to them than you have ever been.
However, this activity is designed for experienced canoeists or kayakers! If you are new to kayaking or inexperienced you should join one of our accompanied canoe expeditions - Fowey River Expeditions on the same telephone number.
For independent hire you must be experienced and at least one of your group must be over eighteen years of age.
You must book in advance if you possibly can. If the telephone is unmanned leave your name, the day and time you are arriving, and how many canoes (singles and doubles) are required. Please leave a contact number if possible. Please telephone to cancel if you decide not to come. Alternatively you can also book online at the CRBO
